ASME Event: Scanning & reverse engineering, an example of design challenges specific to rotating equipment.
The Apollo Technical Subsection of the ASME South Texas Section promotes activities on design, manufacturing, packaging, operation, maintenance and repair related to rotating and reciprocating machinery and auxiliary systems. The Gas Turbine part of our section provides a platform where gas turbine industry professionals from engineering to fabrication, service, maintenance and operation meet with each other on gas turbine technologies.
Summary: Shop tour of the Conhagen site followed by technical presentation on scanning and reverse engineering of rotating equipment components.

Speaker(s): Jesse Salas III & Andrew Mills (Conhagen)
Jesse Salas III is a lead engineer at Conhagen with 10 years of experience. He holds a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering. He advises on centrifugal pump repair, pump design, and pump system testing and optimization. Jesse is an alumnus of the Texas A&M Turbomachinery lab, where he studied ESPs and vertical pump rotor dynamics.
Andrew Mills is a lead engineer at Conhagen with 15+ years of experience in rotating equipment repair. Andrew holds a BSME from ASU, started his career with Siemens/TurboCare, continued with a 3rd party 3D scanning company, and currently supports Conhagen with a wide range of engineering tasks.
