What does Project Cayman’s binding letter of intent establish?

ONE Nuclear says the agreement provides site control for development of Project Cayman. Site control is an important early development requirement because it gives a developer a contractual basis to evaluate and advance a proposed location.

The public announcement does not describe whether the site-control arrangement is structured as a purchase option, lease option or another form of land agreement. It also does not disclose the agreement’s term, financial commitments, development deadlines or termination provisions.

Calling the letter of intent binding does not establish that the power plant, battery system or data center has been fully approved or financed. ONE Nuclear’s SEC-filed announcement identifies the planned capacities as forward-looking and notes risks involving development timelines, permitting, commercial viability and the company’s ability to raise additional capital.

Project Cayman combines gas generation, storage and data infrastructure

The disclosed configuration pairs dispatchable natural gas generation with utility-scale battery storage and a co-located data center campus. The natural gas plant is planned for 2.88 GW of generation capacity. The battery system is separately described as having 700 MW of power capacity and 2.88 GWh of energy capacity.

The announcement does not identify the gas-generation technology, equipment supplier, number of generating units, fuel-consumption requirements or emissions-control configuration. It also does not disclose the battery supplier, chemistry, number of enclosures or intended operating profile.

ONE Nuclear’s broader business strategy includes natural gas and advanced nuclear technologies. However, the announced Project Cayman configuration includes a natural gas plant and battery storage; the August 31 release does not identify an advanced nuclear reactor or small modular reactor as part of this project.

The data center campus has not been assigned a disclosed customer

ONE Nuclear describes a high-capacity data center campus co-located with the energy project, but it does not identify a hyperscaler, tenant, operator or contracted power customer. The company also has not provided the campus’s planned IT load, building count, development phases, cooling design or water requirements.

The co-location concept could allow generation, storage and computing infrastructure to be planned together. At this stage, however, the announcement does not establish how much of the power plant’s output would serve the data center, how much could be delivered to the regional grid, or whether any electricity sales agreement has been executed.

ONE Nuclear positions the project near RiverPlex and regional transmission investment

ONE Nuclear says Project Cayman is near RiverPlex MegaPark and aligned with Entergy’s regional transmission buildout. The developer also placed the site northeast of SpaceX’s announced Louisiana infrastructure expansion and cited SpaceX and Hyundai developments as examples of regional power-demand growth.

Those references provide geographic and economic-development context. They do not confirm that SpaceX, Hyundai, Entergy or a RiverPlex tenant is a Project Cayman customer, partner or investor. The announcement does not identify an executed interconnection agreement, transmission-service agreement or utility procurement.

ONE Nuclear said community outreach is underway and expects public information meetings with local parishes, government agencies and other stakeholders from September through December 2026. No permit applications or agency approvals were identified in the release.
